Change of officials at royal palace secretariat

The Narayanhiti Royal Palace Sunday made administrative changes following the retirement of Deputy Chief of Household Chiran Shumsher Thapa along with eighteen other officials after reaching the age limit.

Sudan Pokhrel, Private Secretary to the King will now become the new Deputy Chief of the Royal Palace Household. Similarly, Press Secretary Mohan Bahadur Pandey has been appointed private
secretary to the King while Colonel Yogeshwar Karki has been appointed press secretary.

The Press Secretariat from now onwards will not have to look into the foreign affairs related issues. This responsibility has now been given to the Royal Palace Principle Secretariat. Sharada Prasad Pradhan and Pashupati Maharjan have been given two years’ extension and have been asked to continue with their present responsibilities.

Among other changes include the upgrading of the post of Military Secretary to the post of Principal Military Secretary following the promotion of Vivek Shah to the post of Lieutenant General. Similarly, Shekhar Dhungana, a joint secretary in the Press Secretariat has been transferred to the Principal
Secretariat.

Three more officials, including Bishwa Bikram Shah in the Comptroller Department have been relieved from duty though their service terms had not come to an end.
