Chand visits bomb-hit school in Jorpati

Prime Minister Lokendra Bahadur Chand visited the East Pool Secondary School in Jorpati Saturday, where an explosion Friday at 5:40 pm left five students including two adults injured.

Prime Minister Chand expressed his sympathy to those affected by the incident. Five students leaving the school hostel were among the seven injured when a group of Maoist terrorists detonated a bomb at the school situated in Jorpati VDC ward no: 1.

Those injured in the incident are undergoing treatment at the Medical College at Jorpati and Teaching Hospital Maharajgunj. The blast shattered the windowpanes of the school building and the compound  wall of the school has developed cracks after the blast.

Similarly the terrorists bombed the office of local Gamhariya Village Development Committee in Parsa Friday ahead of the two-day strike called by the Maoists in Narayani and Bagmati Zones.

The blast caused damage equivalent to approximately Rs. two hundred thousand and all the documents inside the office have been gutted, according to the district police.
