A special court in the capital Tuesday extended the judicial remand of revenue official Kedar Chalise for another 30 days after the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) presented him before the court, court sources said.

Chalise, a junior customs official, surrendered himself voluntarily to the CIAA Monday after several months in hiding. The CIAA promptly detained him. The CIAA will prepare corruption charges against him while in remand.

Three other revenue officials are still absconding. CIAA has now arrested 19 revenue officials to prepare corruption charges against them.
