Chief Election Commissioner Keshavraj Rajbhandari has resigned from his post.

Talking to reporters at the premises of the High Level Commission formed to probe the atrocities committed during people’s movement on Sunday, Rajbhandari announced that he has resigned from his post.

Rajbhandari was summoned by the commission to probe into his role in suppression of the people’s movement.

Rajbhandari’s resignation comes hours before the ruling seven party alliance members were to move an impeachment motion against him and other election commissioners in the House of Representatives today.
