SURKHET: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gokul Prasad Baskota has urged Nepali Congress to refrain from doing ‘politics of pollution’.
He also urged the main opposition party to refrain from being restless since the government is periodic.
Inaugurating the national conference of Association of Community Radio Broadcasters Nepal (ACORAB) in Surkhet, Minister Baskota urged the NC party to stop indulging in dirty politics.
On the occasion, he also suggested the media to play the role of a critique of the government, not as the opposition.
BHADRAPUR: Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa has instructed the security bodies to be vigilant against anti-state elements active in the country.
Minister Thapa said so during a meeting with employees and security personnel at the District Administration Office in Jhapa on Wednesday.
He urged everyone to be alert since some internal as well as external elements have been active to topple the government to create instability in the country.
Without naming, Home Minister Thapa said some forces are trying to divide the country in the name of ethnicity and religion.
KATHMANDU: Chairman of Nepal Communist Party Pushpa Kamal Dahal has assured of completing the remaining task of party at the earliest.
Speaking at a program to pay tributes to the martyrs of the People’s Movement and ‘People’s War’ at party office at Dhumbarahi, Dahal said even though some international forces are conspiring to avert party unification, he claimed that the two parties would be united at all levels.
“Be assured, we will conclude the unification soon,” he told the meeting urging party leaders and cadres to have patience for another few days.
On the occasion, Dahal urged all political parties, including the Nepali Congress and the Madesh-based parties to join hands with the government in its agenda of the country’s development and prosperity.
KATHMANDU: The much-hyped Prime Minister Employment Program has been launched amid a special ceremony at City Hall in the capital today.
Launching the program, Prime Minister KP Oli dubbed the program a “step forward’ towards the path of ‘Prosperous Nepal and Happy Nepali’ envisioned by the government.
“Unemployment and poverty are the major hindrances that have been preventing the country from moving ahead to achieve the goal of prosperity,” he said amid a jam-packed audience.

Prime Minister Oli claimed that his government has launched various people-oriented programs, including the Social Security Fund aimed at improving the living standard of the Nepali people. The PM Employment Program, he argued, has been planned to create massive job opportunities to end poverty in the country.
We are inching closer to our set priorities as the incumbent government is moving ahead with a clear-cut goal and vision, PM Oli added.

According to the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security, the government has plans to introduce programs to create 200,000 jobs in the fiscal year 2018/19 and 700,000 jobs in 2022/23.
The government will provide subsidized loans to youths to start up their own business, as per the program.
Under this program, the government will issue loans to students based on their educational certificates as collateral, provide up to Rs one million to foreign employment returnees based on their skills and Rs 500,000 seed money to start up their own businesses.
KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress, the main opposition party, has demanded the government to make public the report prepared by the National Education Commission.
Speaking at the special hour of the National Assembly (NA) today, Nepali Congress lawmaker Radheshyam Adhikari asked the government to apprise the House about the issues incorporated report. He expressed surprise over the government’s delay in publicizing the report, which he said was an issue of public concern.
Stating that the report was expected to be unveiled when it was submitted to the government, Adhikari said even the House is still ignorant about it.
KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli today said the National Police Academy would be shifted to Panauti from the current location at Maharajgunj.
The Academy would be shifted to a spacious location considering the ‘insufficient space’ at the present place to conduct various activities, he said. Addressing the 178th convocation of the police inspectors, PM Oli the land for the same has already been purchased at Panauti. According to thim, India has assured of assistance to construct the Academy building in Panauti.
On the occasion, he brushed aside rumors that the shifting of the Academy were baseless saying that the issue has been unnecessarily politicized. He said that some elements were hell-bent on defaming the President by alleging the Head of State of trying to encroach upon the Academy compound.
As much as 822 ropanies of land has been bought for the Academy at Panauti of Kavrepalanchowk district.
LAHAN: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Chairperson and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the issue of the citizenship in Tarai will be resolved soon.
Speaking while inaugurating the newly constructed health post building in Arnama Rural Municipality of the district on Monday, Dahal said that the bill related to the citizenship act would facilitate the genuine citizen to receive the citizenship of Nepal.
Likewise, in another context, leader Dahal reiterated that the government is committed to address the need of the people of Tarai and to amend the constitution to meet the genuine demands of the people in the region.
Leader Dahal revealed that the government has allotted a package worth Rs 2 billion for the infrastructure development in the region targeting the people of the region, marginalized and underprivileged group in particular.
BUTWAL: Secretary-General of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Bishnu Prasad Paudel has said that there is no dispute within the party on Venezuela case.
Speaking at a program in the district on Sunday, leader Paudel asserted that there is no point to comment further in the case as the party has already endorsed the statement issued by the party chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
In another context, leader Paudel opined that the government should always welcome the constructive suggestions positively regarding its activities.
BUTWAL: Chairperson of Rastriya Janamorcha Nepal, Chitra Bahadur KC has accused foreign powers of plotting to restore the monarchy as they were against the communist government in Nepal.
Speaking at a press meet on Saturday, leader KC warned risk of the restoration of the monarchy if serious actions were not taken in protecting and institutionalizing the achievements including republic, secularism and inclusiveness.
Leader KC argued that Nepal could not handle the federalism; foreign interference has raised alarmingly and claimed that the country would not bear the cost of running three levels of government.
In another context, he accused the ruling parties and opposition of promoting the corruption at the policy level.
BIRATNAGAR: Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs has said that the federal government is committed to federalism. Speaking at a press meet organized by Press Chautari Morang today, he said the government was drafting laws to implement the constitution and federalism in the country. “Of the 339 laws, 165 have already been enacted while more are in the process of formulation and amendment,” he said.
The minister informed that the probe committee was looking into the alleged corruption in the purchase of wide-body aircraft adding that the government was holding regular consultation and deliberations with the judicial council to increase people’s faith towards the judiciary. The program was presided by Chautari chairman Ram Chandra Adhikari.
