URLABARI: Chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Kamal Thapa has claimed that Hindu state would be restored at any cost.
Addressing a program at Urlabari of Morang on Friday, Thapa said Nepal would be established Hindu state through street protests as RPP does not have majority in the parliament.
The party is organizing ‘Mechi Mahakali National Dignity Campaign’.
He also warned of nation-wide protests if the government turned deaf ear to their demands before March 15. “We have submitted a 22-point memorandum to the Prime Minister calling for a referendum to decide the fate of Hindu state,” he said.
Likewise, Thapa also demanded that the government investigated the assets of the politicians and officials occupying public posts since 1991 by forming an independent probe commission.
KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives (HoR) on Friday passed a condolence motion on the demise of lawmaker and Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Rabindra Adhikari.
In today’s meeting of HoR, the proposal presented by Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara was passed unanimously.
The proposal states that today’s meeting of the HoR expresses deep sorrow over the unexpected demise of Minister Adhikari on Wednesday, February 27 at the age of 49 in the air Dynasty helicopter crash in Taplejung.
The meeting also extended heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family and observed a moment of one-minute silence in honor of late Adhikari.
The HoR will meet at 1:00 am on Saturday.

KATHMANDU: Tourism Minister Adhikari’s mortal remains has reached Pokhara. His body was taken to Tribhuvan International Airport from where it was flown to his hometown.
Thousands have gathered at the Exhibition Center in Pokhara where his body has been kept for condolences.
Earlier, all the seven bodies including that of Adhikari had been been kept at Tundikhel where thousands of heartbroken people paid their last respects to the departed souls.
As per the cabinet’s decision, the Adhikari’s body will be cremated with state honor at Ramghat in Pokhara today.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defense Ishwor Pokharel is taking part in the final rites for Adhikari, representing the government.
Secretariat members of the Nepal Communist Party, Bamdev Gautam and Narayan Kaji Shrestha are also attending the funereal ceremony of Adhikari. As announced at Tundikhel, Gautam and Shrestha will drape the party’s flag over the body of late Adhikari while Minister Pokharel will drape a national flag on his mortal remains.
A cabinet meeting held at Baluwatar on Wednesday evening had decided to accord state funeral to Adhikari.
Final rites for five people who lost their lives in the chopper crash on Wednesday will be performed at Pashupati Aryaghat today while that of Ang Chhiring Sherpa, Managing Director of Yeti Airlines, will be held on Sunday.
Seven people, including Adhikari, had died in the chopper crash that occurred in Taplejung district on Wednesday.
BARDIBAS: Hundreds of locals held a torch rally at Bhangaha Municipality in Mahottari district yesterday evening protesting against rampant extraction of sand and pebbles from local Ratu river and Nadikaus area. Total 19 crusher industries are operating at the banks of Ratu river. Some of locals have accused the local representatives of providing protection to crusher operators.
A monitoring team from the District Coordination Committee had found most of the crusher industries in the area operating illegally. “The team found most of crusher industries operating illegally . But no efforts are made to remove them,” said Mukunda Dahal, vice chairperson of Bhangaha Rural Municipality.
SURKHET: Incessant snowfall has paralyzed life in mid and far-west Nepal. Snow fall has complicated life in Dolpa, Mugu and Jumla districts. Air and land transport services in the mountainous districts of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces have been disrupted. Besides, the government offices, schools, industries and non-government offices have also been closed down due to the freezing temperature, according to Madhav Prasad Dhungana, chief district officer (CDO) of Humla who shared that two to five feet snow remains piled up in the far flung area.
The most hit hard by the snowfall and dipping temperature are children, patients, senior citizens and disadvantaged people, shared Netra Bahadur Shahim a local journalist.
KATHMANDU: The Non Resident Nepalis Association (NRNA) has said all NRNs have been shocked at the news of the death of seven people, including the Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Rabindra Adhikari in a helicopter crash in Taplejung on Wednesday.
Extending condolences to the bereaved families, including Adhakari’s, the association said the country has lost a true nationalist and an active leader.
“NRNA was working in collaboration with Adhikari. We will remember his efforts for the promotion of Nepal’s tourism after assuming the post of Minister for Tourism,” Association’s Spokesman, Bhusan Ghimire stated in a press release today.
Likewise, it has also expressed sorrow over the deaths of the victims, and extended condolences to the families, including Yeti Airlines’ managing director and a leading tourism entrepreneur, Ang Tshring Sherpa.
Meanwhile, Nepal Chamber of Commerce has also expressed sorrow over the death of seven people including Minister Adhikari and tourism entrepreneur Sherpa. It has extended condolences to the members of the bereaved families.
KATHMANDU: Postmortem of the deceased in Wednesday’s Air Dynasty helicopter crash is underway at the TU Teaching Hospital (TUTH), Maharajgunj.
Doctors involved in the postmortem say it might take around 10-12 hours to complete the process.
There is a thick presence of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) cadres, relatives and family members of the deceased.
The hospital wears a gloomy look with the wailing of the deceased family members and kin.
There has been a difficulty in identifying the bodies. Only the body of the security guard of the deceased Minister Adhikari could be identified and is already handed over to his family, doctors at the TUTH said.
A total of 11 medical team led by Dr. Rijan Shrestha, the acting chief at the Forensic Medial Department of the hospital, is busy conducting the postmortem.
KATHMANDU: Chairman of Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC), Rajesh Kaji Shrestha has expressed deepest sorrow over the demise of seven people in the Air Dynasty crash.
Issuing a condolence message, Shrestha said the NCC family is deeply shocked at the tragic incident that claimed the lives of seven people, including Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Rabindra Adhikari.
The entire family of NCC extends heartfelt tributes to all those killed in Wednesday’s accident, and expresses condolences to the bereaved families, the statement said.
KATHMANDU: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has condoled the demise of Air Dynasty crash victims.
On Thursday morning, Chairman Dahal visited the family members of late Rabindra Adhikari at the minister’s quarter in Harihar Bhawan, and expressed condolences over the tragic incident.
Dahal visited Adhikari’s father, mother, wife, and other family members and expressed sorrow over Adhikari’s demise.
Dahal also visited the family members of Chairman of Yeti Airlines Ang Chhiring Sherpa, Birendra Prasad Shrestha, Yubraj Dahal, Prime Minister K P Oli’s personal secretary Arjun Kumar Ghimire, Birendra Bhochibhaiya, and captain Prabhakar KC to express condolences.
Seven including Tourism Minister Adhikari died in an Air Dynasty crash in Taplejung yesterday.
