Nepali movie ‘Love Station’ hits screens Published on: April 5, 2019

KATHMANDU: Nepali cine film ‘Love Station’ has hit the screens nationwide from Friday. Directed by Ujjwal Ghimire, the movie features popular cine artists Pradeep Khadka and Jasita Gurung in the lead roles.

The movie revolves round the love between Khadka and Gurung. Khadka has been presented as love teacher in the move.

Set in various places of Nepal including those surrounding Darjeeling, the movie has been made under the banner of Kafiya Films Pvt. Ltd.

Subas Singh Basnet is the script writer while Govinda Shahi, Kishu Shahi and Kabir Bikram are the producers of the film.

Similarly, Ramesh Budhathoki, Siru Bista, Rabi Dangol, Priya Rijal, Prakash Shah, Dinesh Kafle among others have performed in the Love Station.

LOS ANGELES: Famous model Amber Rose is expecting her second child, media reports said on Thursday.

The model and her Alexander Edwards announced they are expecting a child in a Instagram post on Wednesday.

Rose also has a six-year-old son named Sebastian Taylor Thomaz with rapper Wiz Khalifa,  reports added.

Human rights int’l film festival kicks off today Published on: April 4, 2019

KATHMANDU: The 7th edition of human rights international film festival is kicking off today in the capital.

In the opening of the festival, the film “The March of Hope” will be screened. The German-based film is jointly directed by Jim Kroft and Bastian Fischer. Human Rights Film Center (HRFC) is organizing the event at Russian Center of Science and Culture, Kamal Pokhari.

Similarly, about 80 films from 33 different countries will be screened on the 4-day festival. The theme of this festival for this edition is “Migration”.

“There will be three panel discussions during the festival on the theme of migration, issues of marginalized minorities and film funding in Nepal,” Anup Subedi, president of Nepal Independent Filmmakers’ Society, told Khabarhub.

 

 

Angelina Jolie not ruling out public office in her future Published on: April 3, 2019

LOS ANGELES: Actress Angelina Jolie has announced Wednesday that she is not ruling out running for public office. However, she is “looking to others for leadership.”

Jolie has urged nations to deploy more women peacekeepers in order to prevent sexual violence against refugees. She says “we have to change laws that treat women as second-class citizens.”

Farah Khan’s big-budget film in the offing Published on: April 3, 2019

MUMBAI: Indian filmmaker Farah Khan’s upcoming film will be the remake of a much-liked Hindi film, Khan has releaved.

Rohit Shetty’s new film will be directed by Farah.

Farah Khan said they are ‘extremely excited’ for the collaboration, and are making a big, massive Bollywood musical, Indian media has reported.

According to Rohit, they are giving final touches to the script.

Urvashi comes to defend Boney Kapoor Published on: April 2, 2019

MUMBAI: A video has been doing the rounds in social media in which filmmaker Boney Kapoor was caught ‘inappropriately’ touching actress Urvashi Rautela.

In the video, the filmmaker was seen patting the actress on her derriere.

But, the actress has come to rescue Kapoor.

“I felt appalled and beyond shocked this morning when I saw social media flooded with trolls of me in a video with respected sir. It makes me feel extremely unhappy and miserable because the social sites/media don’t even think twice before putting up things or destroying anyone’s reputation,” Urvashi tweeted on Tuesday, urging everyone to “stop trolling.”


 

 

 

 

 

 

Priyanka and Nick ‘to sue’ magazine over divorce article Published on: April 2, 2019

India’s Bollywood actor Priyanka Chopra and her husband Nick Jonas said they will sue the US magazine that carried an article saying they were heading for a divorce, media reports said.

The US-based OK! magazine quoting a source had earlier said that the couple have been ‘fighting about everything’, and were heading for a divorce after just 117 days of marriage.

The magazine ran a news saying that they, Priyanka and Nick, ‘rushed into things’… and that their marriage was ‘hanging by a thread’.

According to a report in a website, Priyanka is set to sue the magazine for spreading fake information. (Agencies)

Dabangg 3 title song will 500 background dancers Published on: April 2, 2019

Indian actor Salman Khan has started shooting of Dabangg 3 in Indore. The film is said to have a grand set.

Media reports said that the title track of the film will be shot on a massive scale, and see over 500 back dancers.

The song, reports said, will be followed by an action sequence between Salman and Arbaaz Khan.

The film will have two different time periods. While one time period will show the flashback, revealing the backstory of Chulbul, the backstory will portray Salman as a local goon, however, with a good heart. Likewise, the current time period will show Salman as a brave cop.

The film stars Sonakshi Sinha, and is directed by Prabhu Deva. (Agencies)

Dhurmus, Lamichhane distribute relief to cyclone-hit victims Published on: April 2, 2019

KATHMANDU: Nepali Cine Artist Sitaram Kattel, who is popularly known as Dhurmus, and Journalist Rabi Lamichhane have distributed  relief materials to cyclone-hit victims in Bara and Parsa districts.

Dhurmus-Suntali Foundation has distributed rice, tarpaulins and noodles. The relief materials were distributed to the windstorm victims in the hardest-hit Feta Rural Municipality in the presence of chairman Amirlal Prasad Sah, said the Foundation.

Earlier, Dhurmus had played a significant role in relief and rescue operations for the earthquake victims of 2015. He has already constructed Integrated Model Settlements in three different places for the quake victims. He is also currently engaged in the construction of International Cricket Ground.

Similarly,  a team led by Journalist Rabi Lamichhane has  distributed relief materials to Bara storm victims. He went to visit hospitals to know the condition of the injured and said in a Facebook status that he has some food stuffs in stock for few days.

Meanwhile, the government has directed the Home Ministry to intensify the relief distribution work. A cabinet meeting held on Monday directed the ministry to this effect. An emergency cabinet meeting of Province 2 also decided to provide Rs 300,000 to each family of the deceased and formed a five-member high level committee led by Minister for Internal Affairs and Law Gyanendra Yadav in response to the cyclone victims.

At lest 27 died and over 500 sustained critical injuries when a deadly cyclone hit Bara and Parsa districts on Sunday evening.

MATHURA:Bollywood actress turned politician Hema Malini started her election campaign from a farm in Mathura. Malini, the BJP Lok Sabha lawmaker is seeking a second term from Mathura. In 2014, she had won from the same constituency by over 3,30,000 votes.
“People greeted me happily. They welcomed me because I have done a lot for the people of Mathura. I am proud of what I did…in the near future more development will be the only aim. Nobody has done anything for Mathura before me like the way I did,” claimed Hema Malini.
“Began my Lok Sabha campaign… with the Govardhan Kshetra, where I had the opportunity to interact with women working in the fields…” she said.
