Conor Vs Khabib Betting Odds: Khabib Going Slightly Down from his Opening Line Published on: September 25, 2018

Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov will face each other in less than 2 week time in the mega event at UFC 229. The event is scheduled to take place on October 6 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Conor will return to the Octagon after nearly 2 years hiatus. On the other side, Khabib is going through the unbeaten streak of 26-0. So, The Eagle is favorite to win the bout as per the experts and is going of as -155 according to OddsShark.com.

Khabib was on -170 on previously updated lines but McGregor has made a positive impact since then. The Notorious was predicted as the underdog with +140 in betting odds in the beginning but has now improved to +125.

To most surprise, McGregor winning by KO, TKO or DQ is at +165, which means it will be a smarter way in betting McGregor by knockout at +165 instead of on the moneyline at +125 given that McGregor wins the majority of time with his lethal striking ability.

Nurmagomedov is going off at +205 to win by submission, +300 to win by knockout and +400 to win by decision.

Conor McGregor’s Proper No. 12 Whiskey Selling at its Peak; Stores set Purchase Limit to make it available for all the customers Published on: September 23, 2018

Conor McGregor’s whiskey Proper No. 12 has hit the market with its popularity within a week of its launch. Tesco Ireland stores have limited its buy to two bottles per customer to make it available for all.

The stores had to put public notice notifying people about the limitation in the purchase of Proper No. 12.

One of the stores had the sign board written:

“Due to popular demand unfortunately Proper 12 whiskey is limited to two bottles per customer per day.”

The storekeeper revealed that the demand of the whiskey is more than the production that is why the store had to limit the selling.

The brad was launched by UFC star Conor on Monday changing the ‘Notorious’ moniker as the trademark to Proper No. 12 drink, which was named after McGregor’s hometown Crumlin situated in Dublin 12.

Conor McGregor Makes Explosive UFC Return; Some UFC 229 Press Conference Moments Published on: September 21, 2018

People were expecting Conor McGregor’s return, to his first UFC press conference in almost two years, to be a violent one but they weren’t quite prepared for the Irishman’s relentless tirade at rival Khabib Nurmagomedov.

The Notorious even left the UFC president Dana White in shock dropping his best verbal lines in McGregor style. He made the conference look like Conor McGregor show with Dana White as the guest star and featuring a special cameo from UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Dana said he had never seen this type of conference in his UFC career as he labelled it as “darkest press conference.”

If you have missed, check out Conor Vs Khabib UFC 229 press conference video

The Notorious took no time to heat up the conference as he slammed the employer, for not letting the fans attend the conference, in less than a minute as he entered into ta hall. He also went on to promote his newly launched Proper Number 12 whiskey as he opened the bottle that he had brought with him and shared a glass of it with the UFC president.

Conor did not forget to mention the UFC 223 bus attack as he said:

“If that bus door had opened, this man would be dead right now. He would be in a box and I would be in a cell — and we would not have this great fight ahead of us.”

Conor was quite confident that he would knock down the Eagles in the first round but later corrected that he is well prepared for the all five rounds.

The Irish Mystic Mac also talked about Khabib refusing to take a photo with Russian President Valdmir Putin and asked if he was disrespecting his president.

Khabib was funded by Russian billionaire and owner of Summa Group, Ziyavudin Magomedov to help him raise his MMA stardom. Magomedov was later arrested and sentenced to lengthy stint in prison.

Conor claimed Khabib was a “rat” for refusing to pull up Russian president Vladimir Putin about his friend being locked up. He said:

“You took money from (Ziyavudin) Magomedov, you little lick a** rat, now what? (Vladimir) Putin locked him up,” McGregor said. Say something to Putin about locking Magomedov up. Say something. Ask him to release him. Now you don’t understand, you mad rat. You’re a fake, lying rat.”

RAPE CULTURE Published on: September 21, 2018

Shrinkhala Khatiwada

Every day, a new case of rape is highlighted in the media. Rape and murder of a 13-year-old, rape and murder of a 9 month infant, rape of a mentally disabled woman, rape of a daughter…

Surrounding all this, I’ve been seeing a strong force in the social media demanding violent prosecution of the rapist, as severe as a death penalty. But, what we are failing to understand is that Rape, sexual abuse, sexual harassment is rooted deep, beyond our general understanding. It’s a result of hundreds of factors, and sadly, we too are responsible for some of it.

I get messages every day, asking me to do something regarding the increasing cases of rape in our country. I then think of my strongest strength, my voice. Rape culture is a complex subject. It starts with the smallest of matters that we never even consider to be important. Remember the guy who eve teased you while you were walking along the streets of Ratna Park. No big deal, right? No! This is what’s wrong. The guy saw you as an object, not a living human being with emotions. He is a man for whom women are to be looked at, to be sexualized. You can tease her as you please because.. you are a man !

Remember when you sang along your favourite Honey Singh song where he says he wants to give a “brown girl” an “opportunity to be his possession”! Remember when your opinion was looked upon as a woman being “too opinionated” or “egoist”. Or when someone told you that “educated, independent women break families apart”. Or when you had to take your husband or boyfriend’s “permission” to go out with your girls. All of this is a result of our patriarchal society. That has taught us that men are in authority over women, that expects women to be obedient and submissive.

From sexualized advertising to molestation, from rape jokes to drugging, from unwanted touch (non-sexual) to rape, they all are a part of rape culture. The difference is that one is termed as normalization and the other as assault, they all are a part of the same mentality, the latter part is just the result of the former. We need to realize that these things, they have a big part to play.

The reason why I am talking about rape culture, which might take years to change, instead of a death penalty or “burning the rapist” is because I know that these are the things that make a long-term and a positive difference. I still stand firm on my principles where I believe that violence can never lead to peace. Just like how wars can never be a solution. We need to find the root of the cause instead of just axing the diseased branches.

The above ideas are for the educated group that will be reading my posts. The group that gets furious with news of rape and abuse, that wants to do something to bring about changes. All being said, it’s important to realize that we, as women, are not playing the victims. There is a thin line between rape culture and normal human behaviour, we have to be able to differentiate between the two. I have seen men who respect the other sex and I have seen women more sexist than men. This is not an attack on any gender.

We need to build a society that is open about the term “sex”, that accepts it as a basic human need. A society that realizes that sexual urges are natural, a society that educates children about having a control over it. Someone once told me “we need to raise stronger children instead of fixing broken men” and it made perfect sense !

Nevertheless, the most important thing right now is strong laws with even stronger actions. A judiciary system that is quick, efficient and accurate. A system where justice is not a burden for the victims. We need to establish that rape is a heinous crime that can’t be forgiven. Our body is not for someone else’s satisfaction !

Medicine : For Service or Prestige? Published on: August 24, 2018

  • Arun Sharma

The art of medicine consists of amusing the patient while nature cures the disease.”
– Voltaire

Medicine is the science and art of healing. The beauty of a medical degree is it makes you able to save millions of lives and be an inspiration for millions of people.

To get enrolled for MBBS (in context of Nepal), one should pass the entrance examination held by Institute of Medicine or Kathmandu University School of Medical Science or BP Koirala Institute of Health Science or Patan Academy of Health Science after completing his/her high school level education. The course duration of undergraduate program (MBBS) is 5.5 years. Then the candidate has to pass the license examination of Nepal Medical Council. But the result of recent NMCLE shows that out of 776 candidates, only 189 have managed to pass. That brings the pass percentage somewhere close to 25%.

Medical science demands your keenest attention and a great devotion on studies while pursuing the degree whereas through knowledge on the subject and extreme competency during the practice. This can only be achieved at the expense of an unwavering focus, many sleepless nights of hard work and study and a blazing desire of performing something worth remembering by generations yet to be born!

Though knowledge, experiences and information shapes the nature of human awareness but a significant portion of it is indeed shaped by the society he dwells in. We are socially programmed to believe an idea as truth if a significant portion of people in the community are believing it as truth.

Being a doctor is solely accepted as the definition of success in the contemporary society of ours’. By the age of 7/8 years, a child has dream of becoming astronaut, scientist, musician, artist and many more. By the end of secondary education, he decides to study science. By the end of high school, his first priority is medicine (for majority) either motivated by the desire to earn or for the satisfaction of ‘Great dream of every Nepali parents ‘. But you cannot afford to climb the ladder of success only to realize, when you get to the top, the ladder has been leaning against the wrong wall!  However, this situation does not apply to all. Some are truly motivated by the instincts of performing noble deeds and serving people in the best way possible.

The Bhagavad Gita: Chapter-18; Verse-47

śhreyān swa-dharmo vigua para-dharmāt sv-anuhhitāt
svabhāva-niyata
karma kurvan nāpnoti kilbiham

“It is better to do one’s own work, even though imperfectly, than to do another’s work, even though perfectly. By doing one’s innate duties, a person does not incur sin.” Innate duties are the ones that a person was born for. A subtle voice speaks from the inside, people do feel a calling for something but they ignore it and choose to do the things that are popularly being done by majority of people. Think for a moment, what if Bill Gates was a doctor and Dr. Upendra Devkota, a programmer? Will they be equally successful as they are now? The answer is, “No!”. We all are blessed with something very special and our duty is to sharpen that skill.

In  a nutshell, it can be stated that one should not pursue medical career for the mere shake of prestige and money  that makes him blind towards his moral duties but should pursue it only if he is truly interested in serving people even in his/her most difficult times.

What Can I DO ? Published on: August 21, 2018

I try sleeping
My mind haunts me
I roll sideways,
He is here again!!!

The door is closed
The lights turned off
He comes near
I quiver with fear

He demands, strip
No, I cant, never
What??? You whore!!!
I won’t ask again

He jumped in
I could not escape
He pushed me
The beast kicked in

He starts molesting
I wonder!!! whats fate???
Why with me???
I just desire freedom

My clothes ripped
He has stripped naked
Pleasure for him
I just feel pain

He leaves happily
Then starts my horror
Stain on Identity
Scars on the soul

I was sold
Traded for my flesh
The beast pounded
Killing life for money

Unison is holy
Brings seed of life
But not here
It’s seed of destruction

I am used
The man turned men
Girl to meat
Feast on hourly basis

My weak body
Soul shattered into pieces
They won’t listen
Just labeled me prostitute

Yes, a prostitute
I also have feelings
I had family
They hoped for me

I want success
The name and fame
I want work
Not to be worked

I don’t know
How will I survive
Will I escape ?
Or trapped for eternity ?

I have sisters
They share the dread
All with stories
Of Pain and Hurt

Damsel in distress
Waiting for the Wonderwoman
To be saved
From this rotting hell

Yes its hell
They burn me internally
Some seem caring
But all the same

I don’t exist
At least not as human
Not for them
Do they even care?

I don’t enjoy
Certainly can’t be enthusiastic
I just accept
What Can I Do ???
