World’s Largest Lesson is happening on June 14, 2019, in Nepal. It introduces the Sustainable Development Goals to Children and young people everywhere and unites them in action.

AIESEC Nepal has collaborated with schools from Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Dhulikhel, Bhaktapur, and Lumbini where AIESEC Nepal will deliver a 90 minutes interactive sessions about Sustainable Development goal.

Heart patient gets financial aid Published on: June 8, 2019

8 june, myagdi- Financial assistance has been provided to a heart patient of Kalejabang of Raghuganga rural municipality-3 in Myagdi district.

Dhan Bahadur Sarki, 64, has got around Rs 150,000 financial support for his treatment. He, suffering from heart attack on May 27, underwent treatment at ICU of Pokhara-based Manipal Hospital for 18 days and has to undergo surgery.

A leader Ishwor Bhandari said that the financial aid was collected from donors in and outside the country. Financially poor Sarki family has appealed for support.

The hospital has given Rs 100,000 discount in his treatment while the Gndaki State Social Development Ministry has provided financial support of Rs 100,000 to him. (RSS)

Congress awakening campaign comes to a close Published on: June 8, 2019

8 june, kathmandu- The first phase of the ‘Himal, Pahad, Tarai-Madhesh Nepali Congress National Awakening Campaign’ is concluding today. The campaign had begun on May 8.

During the campaign, central leaders visited all the 77 districts, organised mass meeting, distributed membership and collected recommendations and feedback from the public.

On the occasion, majority of the local cadres in the district have suggested for uniting the party with unity among all the senior leaders. They also suggested for making the merit based evaluation of leaders and cadres of the party.
The major objective of the campaign was to inform people at the local level about the policy and programmes and the amended statute endorsed by the party’s mahasamiti, consolidate the party organisation and share the progress made by the country in the past under the NC leadership.

The campaign will be organised in three phases throughout the year 2076. It will end on January 1, 2020 on national reconciliation day, according to party spokesperson Biswa Prakash Sharma. (RSS)

Exploring Spiritual Tourism in Nepal Published on: June 8, 2019

8 june, kathmandu- Efforts have begun to exploit the abundant possibilities for spiritual tourism in Nepal. The matter was proposed during the 3rd edition of Himalayan Travel Mart underway in the capital.

Accordingly, a transborder deliberation took place about spiritual tourism in the major session of the conference on Friday. Renowned religious preachers from Nepal, India and Bhutan delivered lectures on the occasion. Indian spiritual guru Shree Shivakripananda Swami gave a special lecture.

Experts LB Bhanu Sharma, Bhaidhadhara Acharya, Mahayogi Sridhar Rana Rimpoche made presented on the spiritual tourism and possibilities in Nepal. Spirituality from the Top of the World and Spiritual Tourism in the Himalaya were the session leads for the deliberations.

In other sessions of the mega event, founder of World Trail Network Galeo Saintz, International Airlines Ambassador Nancy Rivads and former Secretary Dr Sudha Sharma shared their experiences about responsible and sustainable tourism while Chair of Travel Bloggers Association Janicke Hansen, travel expert William Vazquez and communications expert Paul Pruangkarn talked about new trends in tourism and hospitality sector.

Some 700 delegates from 43 countries are taking part in the event organised with the major slogan of ‘speed of the Himalaya’. The four-day travel mart concludes tomorrow.(RSS)

Racial discrimination and untouchability highest in State 2 Published on: June 8, 2019

8 june, palpa- National Human Rights Commission member Prakash Wosti has said that the highest rate of racial discrimination and untouchability is in State no 2. This is followed by State no. 6 and State no. 7 respectively.

Speaking at an interaction organised by the NHRC here on Friday, he said though Dalit rights have been enshrined in the Constitution, incidents of racial discrimination and untouchability against them have not stopped.

District Coordination Committee, Palpa Chief Dayaraj Basyal said everybody is equal before the law and added that the incidents of racial discrimination and untouchability are on the decline.

Chair of Rainadevi rural municipality Ram Bahadur Karki stressed on the need to address the matter of untouchability by including it in the school curriculum.

Vice chair of Bagnaskali rural municipality Sarawasti Chidi, CDO Birendra Kumar Yadav, Police Chief Biswamani Pokharel called for increasing public awareness to stop racial discrimination and untouchability. (RSS)

Girl mauled to death by Cheetah Published on: June 8, 2019

8 june, damauli- A minor has been mauled to death by a Cheetah in Bhanu municipality last night. The deceased has been identified as nine-year-old Pushpa Adhikari of Bhakundothok in ward no. 2 of the municipality, according to District Police Office, Tanahu.

Pushpa was playing in front of her house when the Cheetah from the nearby jungle pounced on her. Her body was found some 500 meters away in a field. Prior to this, three children have already been killed by the wild animal in the same municipality. (RSS)

Birthing centre comes into operation Published on: June 8, 2019

8 june, Balewa- A birthing centre has come into operation at the health post in Pala of Kathekhola rural municipality-1, Baglung district. The centre was established at the well-equipped new building of the health post completed recently.

The health post building was constructed at the cost of Rs. 16.2 million under the multi-year programme of the Government of Nepal. Chair of the rural municipality Amar Thapa inaugurated the building and its services at a programme organized here on Friday.

On the occasion Chair Thapa expressed the confidence that the building would be helpful in making health services accessible to every citizen. However, physical infrastructure alone is not enough, required personnel as well as medical tools and medicine are also equally important.

He also pledged to provide necessary support to ensure the retainment of the health workers in the village environment. (RSS)

PM Oli inaugurates Prime Minister Self-employment Programme Published on: June 7, 2019

7 june, kathmandu- Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said the government was moving forward seeking solution to every problem in the country.

Inaugurating the Prime Minister Self-employment Programme organized in Bhaktapur today, he said the government was identifying solution to every problem.

“The government has sought solution to problems in response to those people lashing it what it was doing when four million Nepali youths are in abroad employment. This programme is an example of this,” he said.

Stating that this great campaign has begun in a grand manner, PM Oli said it was not like any seminar but a campaign that started with real work. The government is working to create ‘digital Nepal’, he said, adding that every state, municipality and rural municipality would be turned ‘digital’.

The Prime Minister maintained that no Nepali will now have to go abroad looking for work as the government would provide employment to all within the country itself. He described the Prime Minister Self-employment Programme as an illustration of the great campaign of nation building.

PM Oli said: ‘Now, no one will face problem as the government has conducted a campaign of security of life of people from children to the senior citizens. Some reactionary elements are active as they are nervous at the great campaign initiated by the government. Gone are the days of keeping the people in confusion and taking them for a ride.

People who are into extortion, setting off bombs and looting in the name of revolution are also active but the elements that are involved in violence and terrorism would not be successful.’

He added that even some ‘foolish’ people who are calling for revival of monarchy that kept the country in darkness for 204 years would not be able to do anything.

In the programme, PM also initiated the construction of a road from Subarna Chok of Katunje to Tindhara. On the occasion, he handed over shovel and other tools to youths involved in the programme.

Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security, Gokarna Bista said the government has introduced the Prime Minister Self-employment Programme with a goal of making the unemployed youths self-employed. He added that although this programme has been implemented partially in the current fiscal year, it would be expanded throughout the country with the goal of providing jobs to at least 500,000 unemployed youths from the coming fiscal year. He said the government has brought the employment programme for both educated and uneducated people.

Lawmaker and former minister for industry, Mahesh Basnet said that the government has provided Rs 24.6 million for the employment programme in four municipalities of Bhaktapur. He said that the municipalities would mobilize the unemployed youths at the ward level in work from June 16 itself.

“The government should set up an Employment Bank and provide employment to the unemployed youths based on their qualification as per the data of unemployed youths. Employment can be given to 1.2 million youths in agriculture sector alone while more than 700,000 youths can be given work in the construction industry.

State 3 State Assembly member Rajani Jonchhe, joint secretary at the ministry of labour and employment, Maheshwar Dahal, mayor of Changunaeayan municipality Basudev Thapa, mayor of Madhyapur Thimi municipality Madan Sundar Shrestha, among other speakers said the PM Self-employment Programme has opened the door of employment in the country.

Around 750 unemployed youths of Bhaktapur have got work under this programme. Some 1,500 youths had enlisted their names in the unemployed youth list.

Minister Bista, lawmaker Basnet, the mayors and people’s representatives and the youths had lend their hands in the road construction as part of the inauguration of the programme today. (RSS)

Positive news must for prosperity: Minister Banskota Published on: June 7, 2019

7 june, Dang- Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Gokul Prasad Banskota, has said positive news could help ensure prosperity in the country. Minister Banskota argued Radio Nepal is the common property of all Nepalis.

Addressing a programme organized to open the State office of the Radio Nepal in Tulsipur today, Minister Banskota viewed, “Development is incremental; it may take two to three years for the achievement of any work. Journalists should not seek result of their work in one month.” According to him, with the accelerated development of technology, government was working to provide all citizens’ access to computer. Six telephone towers were set up in Dang, he said, adding that 4G service would begin in one year.

The transmission of Radio Dang news at 98 mega hertz runs from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm every day, while in Rolpa it is transmitted at 1033 mega hertz. The news is aired in Abadhi, Chaudhari and Magar languages.

On the occasion, Executive Director at Radio Nepal, Suresh Kumar Karki, said Radio Nepal would play important role to protect and promote State 5 art and culture.

The Minister also laid a foundation stone for a building of Radio Nepal. It will be constructed at the cost of Rs 21.7 million. Various leaders of the political parties and local representatives also attended the programme. (RSS)

State 3 Chief Attorney resigns Published on: June 7, 2019

7 june, Hetauda- Chief Attorney of State 3, Surya Chandra Neupane, has resigned from his post.
Neupane’s resignation comes at a time when the Chief Minister of the state government, Dormani Poudel, is undergoing medical treatment after falling ill.

Neupane said he tendered his resignation to the Chief Minister through the state government chief secretary Ananda Raj Dhakal.

Giving reasons for his putting in papers, Neupane said he resigned from his post as he was not able to work independently as is his habit and the compulsion to work remaining within limitations.

As per the law, the State Chief approves the resignation of the Chief Attorney. Neupane, who is also a senior advocate, said he resigned also because the role and responsibilities of the Chief Attorney were not like that of a political appointee and prestige but as that of a general employee. (RSS)
