Poverty rate to reduce to zero in five years: Home Minister Thapa Published on: June 14, 2019

14 june, Chitwan- Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa today said the government was at work to decrease the existing poverty rate of 18 percent to zero in the next five years.

And for that, industrial development is needed, he stressed while inaugurating a ‘career development consultancy service and employment fair’ in Ratnanagar. As part of achieving this goal, an industrial area will be created in each state; he said emphasising requirement of skilled workforce and technical and vocational education for development and prosperity. “Employment opportunities should be created by modernising agriculture.”

Referring to unskilled manpower finding it hard to run households due to low wages they get from the competitive market, the minister said the government was always ready to provide security to industries and industrialists.
The fair aims to provide employment opportunities and produce skilled workforce by directly connecting aspirants with employers and providing various income generating training, said Narayan Ban, mayor of the Ratnanagar municipality.

The festival has been attended by job aspiring youths and employers from various districts of the country including Kathmandu, the central capital. Around 3,000 job aspiring youths are expected to visit the fair, where they will get career development consultancy service, and 150 to 200 of them are expected to get job opportunities. (RSS)

Nepal slides down in FIFA ranking, now at 165th position Published on: June 14, 2019

14 june, kathmandu- Nepal has moved four positions down the FIFA rankings. The new ranking chart unveiled by FIFA, the world football governing body today, Nepal descended to 165th position from the 161st position.

However, it is in the third position in the South Asia. India is in the 101st place of FIFA ranking followed by Maldives at 151st position, Bangladesh in the183rd position, Bhutan in the 186th position, Sri Lanka in the 201st position and Pakistan in the 203rd position.

Belgium continues to hold its topmost position in the FIFA ranking and is followed by France (second) and Brazil (third). (RSS)

Six die after consuming wild mushroom curry Published on: June 14, 2019

14 june, Rampur- The number of people died after consuming curry made of wild mushroom in Nisdi rural municipality has reached six.

Eleven people of Sarkidanda at the rural municipality had fallen ill after eating the curry made of poisonous mushroom last Friday. Among them, nine-year-old Nirmala Singh Thakuri, four-year-old Bishnu Singh Thakuri, seven-year-old Suman Singh Thakuri, Nisha Singh Thakuri, Niruta Singh Thakuri and 45-year-old Puran Khamcha have died, Federal Parliament member Dal Bahadur Rana said.

Nirmala died while undergoing treatment at Madhyabindu Hospital, Nawalparasi while Bishnu died at the Purano Medical College, Bhratpur. The other four died while receiving treatment at various hospitals in Kathmandu.
Eighty-year-old Prem Singh Thakuri has returned home after treatment while 36-year-old Chna Kumari Khamcha, her daughter Bimala, 15; Dan Maya Singh Thakuri, 30 and Dhan Kumari Singh are receiving treatment in the ICU.
Those falling sick and the dead are members of four families at Sarkidanda which lies 70 kilometres east of Tansen, the district headquarters.

Lawmaker Rana said initiatives are underway to provide free medical treatment to the sick people of the families who cannot afford to pay the medical bill and relief assistance to the families of the victims. He said he met with the Acting Prime Minister Ishwar Pokharel in this connection today. (RSS)

Two die in separate road accidents Published on: June 14, 2019

14 june, Surkhet- Two persons were killed in separate road accidents in the district. A man identified as Narayan Dev Giri, secretary of Birendranagar municipality-2, was killed when an auto-rickshaw (Bhe 1 Ha 3874) and a motorcycle (Bhe 7 Pa 1834) collided at Airechowk. He died at a hospital on Thursday night, said the police. The auto-rickshaw driver Dipak Bahadur Saud has been arrested.

Likewise, Ram Bahadur Nepali died when a tractor (Bhe 1 Ta 5288) skidded off the road and overturned at Girighat under the Banggesimal-Baddichaur road. The deceased was the vehicle driver’s helper. (RSS)

Military plane crashes in central Vietnam, 2 pilots die Published on: June 14, 2019

31 june, Hanoi- A military plane crashed in Vietnam’s central Khanh Hoa province during a training flight Friday, killing two pilots, Vietnam News Agency reported.The plane caught fire after it crashed in Suoi Tan commune, Cam Lam district, the news agency quoted Nguyen Ngoc Khue, chairman of the communal People’s Committee as saying.

One pilot died on the spot, while another died after being admitted to a nearby clinic, he said. Ngo Vinh Phuc, rector of the Air Force Officer Training School in Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province, confirmed that the plane belonged to the school. (RSS)

At least 8 killed, 8 injured in road accident in S. Pakistan Published on: June 14, 2019

14 june, Islamabad- At least eight people were killed and eight others injured in a road accident in Matiari area of Pakistan’s southern Sindh province, local media reported early Friday. According to the reports, a loaded troller hit a passenger van on the National Highway in Matiari, killing eight people, including three women and two children on late Thursday.

Rescue teams rushed to the site and shifted the bodies and the injured to a nearby hospital. The hospital officials said that the majority of the injured are in critical condition. Rescuers had to cut the van to take out the bodies and wounded persons as it was completely destroyed after the troller hit and pushed it away from the road.

Local police said that the ill-fated passenger van was heading towards Moro area from Hyderabad district when it encountered the accident. Police registered a case against the driver of the troller, who managed to run away from the site after the incident. (RSS)

Mandandeupur municipality bans entry of tipper, tractor for three months Published on: June 14, 2019

14 june, Banepa- The Mandandeupur municipality in Kavrepalanchwok has decided to ban the entry of tippers and tractors inside the municipal area for the next three months in view of the under-construction road project.

The June 9 meeting of the local government agreed to put a ban on such motor vehicles beginning from upcoming June 16. The local government today issued a public notice to this regard. Anyone found violating the decision will be fined Rs 25,000 each time (for tipper) and Rs 15,000 each time (for tractor).
The decision shall remain into force till September 17.

However, the municipality has stated that trucks and tippers can be operated by taking prior approval from the municipality on the recommendation of the municipality ward concerned for transporting construction materials if roads and other projects need to be constructed within the municipality area.

Municipality mayor Tok Bahadur Waiba said the municipality’s executive meeting took this decision as the under-construction roads would be spoilt during the rainy season if the trucks, tractors, tippers and lorries are allowed to operate in an unregulated manner.

Municipality spokesperson Dilli Acharya said there are 13 big roads and many branch roads within the municipality, most of which are not asphalted. So, operation of heavy vehicles like tractors, tippers and lorries on these branch roads would further degrade the road condition, therefore the need to regulate the operation of these vehicles. Scientific forest management begins in Deukhuri Published on: June 14, 2019

14 june, Ghorahi- The Forest Division Office Lamahi has begun scientific forest management in Deukhuri, Dang for preserving and promoting forest resource.

The rollout of scientific forest management action plan has kicked off in 17 out of 148 community forests located in four municipal areas of Deukhuri, according to the Division Forest Office Lamahi.

Lal Babu Yadav, Assistant Forest Officer of Division Forest Office Lamahi, shared that the scientific forest management has been already implemented in 15 community forests.

The main objective of the scientific forest management is to remove old and fallen trees from community forests and plant new saplings. The forest office is making preparation to take away the old and hollow trees and produce new plants.

Certain tasks have been carried out under scientific forest management at Trishakti community forest in Rajpur rural municipality, Pratappur, Shiva community forest and Surya community forest in Gadhawa rural municipality.
Since the setup of Deukhuri Forest Division Office, substantial progresses have been marked in the management of community forestry and prevention of timber smuggling.

The forest office has not only put efforts for checking timber and wildlife smuggling but also actively working for environmental protection.(RSS)

Feast attendees ill; 19 in critical condition Published on: June 14, 2019

 14 june, Dhadingbesi- As many as 30 attendees of a Pasni ceremony in Nilakantha municipality-11, Simle Jyamrung had fallen sick on Thursday.

More than 30 people who attended the weaning ceremony of Resham Ale’s son suffered illness and 19 among them are said to be in critical condition. They are being treated at Dhading District Hospital, shared hospital’s public information officer Krishna Lal Uprety.

According to Dambar Bahadur Adhikari, Chair of previous Jyamrung VDC, those fallen sick had initially seen diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, fever and low blood pressure. The district hospital has suspected it to be food poison. (RSS)

JCB knocks down three; five injured Published on: June 14, 2019

14 june, Bhimduttanagar- Three persons travelling through auto rickshaw died on the spot at Bhimdutta municipality-8, Bangaun of Kanchanpur this morning.

The accident took place when the JCB knocked the auto rickshaw. One woman and two men lost their lives when the JCB (Se 1 Ta 733) en route to western direction hit the auto rickshaw (Me 1 Ha 763, according to the District Police Office, Kanchanpur.

Likewise, five other people who were travelling in the auto also sustained injuries. The injured are undergoing treatment at Bhimduttanagar-based Mahakali Zonal Hospital.

Gyan Bahadur Bista, Deputy Superintendant of Police (DSP) and spokesperson of District Police Office Kanchanpur, informed that the dead bodies are being collected in a place, but identities of the deceased have yet to be ascertained.

He further informed that one among the injured is critical. The injured are Jagadish Parki, 18, of Bhimdutta municipality-10, Laxmi Bohora, 32, of Baitadi Dehimadau, her three-year-old son Nishant Bohora, Prem Thapa, 26, of Bhimdutta municipality-11 and Santosh Luhar, 26, of Beldandi rural municipality.
JCB driver went at large after the accident, police said. (RSS)
