Case filed against Maoist top brass for offence against State

A case was filed at the Special Court Monday against Maoist leader Prachanda including other Maoist leaders for their offence against the State.

The government lawyers in Kalikot district court has filed the case against other Maoist leaders Baburam Bhattarai, Krishna Bahadur Mahara and Pampha Bhusal for their involvement in terrorizing the people in Kalikot.

In the charge sheet, filed under clause three of Article (3) of the Offence Against The State Act 2046, those filing the case have demanded imprisonment for the Maoist leaders.

According to the new provisions the Special Court has been entrusted with the responsibility of looking into cases of corruption and lawsuits involving offences against the state.
