CAN names U-19 squad for ACC Cup

The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has announced the 14-member squad for the final closed camp for the upcoming ACC Under-19 Cup to be held in Kathmandu from November 8-19.

According to press release issued by CAN, Kanishka Chaugain has been named the skipper, while Paras Khadka is appointed as vice captain.

The selected players in the squad are Sharad Vesawkar, Gyanendra Malla, Yeshwant Subedi, Prem Chaudhary, Basanta Regmi, Mahesh Chhetry, Raj Shrestha, Sashi Keshari, Avay Rana, Bantu Bataju, Amrit Bhattarai and Ratan Rauniyar.

The committee which was headed by Bijaya Sharma has selected those players as per their performances in the recently held U-19 National cricket.

Akash Gupta, Nirmal Simangaida, Suraj Timilsina and Deepen Shrestha are the four players who are in the reserve list.

CAN treasurer Pradeep Kumar Karki has been named the team manager, while Roy Luke Dias is the coach and Shankar Kumar Rana his assistant.
