CAN marks ICT Day; best entrepreneur, organisations awarded

The Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) marked the National ICT Day amid various programmes on Monday including an award function.

The association distributed the ‘ICT Business Excellence Award’ , ‘Best ICT Users Award in Public Sector’ and ‘Best ICT Users Award in Private Sector’ amid a function held in the capital.

Sanjib Raj Bhandari, Chief Executive of Mercantile Communications Pvt. Ltd., was conferred ‘ICT Business Excellence Award’ for his contribution to the ICT sector.

Deputy Prime Minister and Information for Information and Communication, Krishna Bahadur Mahara, handed over the award to Raj Bhandari.

Similarly, Inland Revenue Department (IRD) and Kathmandu Model Hospital (KMH) were awarded with ‘Best ICT Users Award in Public and Private sector’ respectively.

The IRD was awarded for the using the computer applications to make its operations effective while KMH was awarded for its tele-medicine services.

CAN also organised a rally with the slogan “Walkathon for ICT Awareness” in the morning to mark the National ICT Day. nepalnews.com
