The Manakamana Cable Car suspended its popular operations indefinitely after vandals attacked and damaged some cars and office equipment at Kuringtar citing security reasons Saturday, management said.
Nepal’s first cable car company started operations three years ago linking Manakamana temple with Manakamana village 105 kms west of the capital. The cable car had facilitated pilgrim travel to the temple.
Management charged a village chief for extortion.
