The meeting of the council of ministers held this morning has decided to form a judicial probe commission to investigate into the terai unrest and subsequent reports of atrocities.

The cabinet meeting, which was held a week after the dispute between the Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala and Forest Minister Matrika Yadav disrupted the earlier meeting, also decided that the commission would be led by retired Justice from Madhesi community, according to cabinet source.

The decision has been taken amid mounting pressure from the Madhesi community leaders including the members of the interim parliament that person from the Madhesi community must lead the judicial commission.

Similarly, the cabinet also briefly discussed the misunderstanding between PM Koirala and Minister Yadav last week.

The cabinet agreed to appoint Maheshwor Dahal as the media advisor of the Information and Communication Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara.

The decisions of the cabinet are usually publicised only after 24 hours.
