KATHMANDU: A passenger bus plying between Ratna Park and Balaju crushed two children to death in Swayambhu Ring Road intersection Friday. Eleven year-old Phulmaya Tamang and her 2 year-old brother died on the spot when the bus hit them.

Police immediately took the driver of the bus Krishna Bahadur Dhakal into custody and started the investigation into the accident, police said. Eyewitnesses said the bus with the registration number Ba Aa 1 Kha was speeding.

Bishwa Thapa, one of the eyewitnesses, said, ” the bus was not in control.”
