As part of the birthday celebrations of King Gyanendra, the Nepal Swimming Association organized the Birthday Cup Swimming Championship at the Birendra Swimming Complex Wednesday.
Bibidha Rimal of LRI school, Shaila Rana of St Mary’s and Stuti Singh of Shuvatara emerged first second and third respectively in the girls 15-17 year age group 100 m butterfly event.
In the boys’ 15-17 age group 50 m butterfly, Pankaj Gauchan of Nagarjun, Dawa Sherpa of KISC and Pabindra Budathoki stood first, second and third.
Nayana Shakya and Michelle Daniel and Suzzana Shakya won gold, silver and bronze respectively in the girls’ 18 above 100 m free style.
Khim Bahadur KC of Tribhuvan Club won gold while Alice Shrestha bagged silver and Man Bahadur Gurung of Tribhuvan Club won silver in the men’s 100m freestyle.
In the girls’ backstrokes for the 13-14 age group, Suzzana Shakya of Rato Bangala came first, LRI’s Pratima Manandhar came second and Ganga Chaudhary of the Little Angles School third.
