Biratnagar prepares for civic reception of King and Queen

People from all walks of life in the eastern town of Biratnagar are engrossed in decorating the historic city for the grand welcome of King Gyanendra and Queen Komal at the civic reception to be hosted on January 3, Radio Nepal reported.

The Morang district working committee of the Nepal Sadbhawana party brought out a rally in Biratnagar Wednesday chanting slogans in support of the King and highlighting his importance for national unity and progress.

One hundred and sixty welcome gates are being erected in different parts of the city to welcome the King and Queen. People belonging to different ethnic tribes have been included in the main preparation committee for the civic reception.

The people will bring out cultural as well as industrial tableau in the honour of the King and the Queen.
