A six member Bhutanese is attending a world conference against racism in Durban, South Africa, from Monday.
The conference will last until September 7. The delegation of Ratan Gajmer, Mangala Sharma, Diki Yonjon, S.K.Pradhan, Narayan Kattel, and Dilip Biswho represents a coalition of Bhutanese refugees living in exile in Nepal and refugee NGOs. The delegation left for South Africa Saturday, an announcement said.
The 100,000 refugees of Nepali ethnicity who have been living in UNHCR administered camps in east Nepal say they have been expelled from their homes in southern Bhutan by the ruling Dukpas.
