After being stranded at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu for a week, the Austrian Ember-135 aircraft left for New Delhi on Sunday, officials said.

Nepali authorities had forced the aircraft to land at the TIA last Monday after it entered into the Nepali airspace ‘without permission.’

An investigation carried out by the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) said it was a human error and that no sensitive material was found inside the aircraft. The CAAN then allowed the aircraft to leave the country after paying penalty and parking fees but the aircraft and its crew had to spend a few more days in Kathmandu waiting for permission from New Delhi.

The aircraft, that had left Lilabari of Assam state of India for Indian capital New Delhi, was first spotted in Nepali sky near Tumlingtar in eastern Nepal and was forced to land at the TIA.
