At least 63 Maoists were killed overnight in a shoot-out between rebels and police in Gorkha, security source said Friday.
Bodies of 63 Maoists have so far been recovered from the clash site where insurgents shot dead 24 policemen and injured eight others in an attack on a police outpost.
Security sources said rebels have also suffered heavy casualties in Jumla; exact casualty figures were not available.
Security sources are now saying they repulsed a rebel attack on Khalangha Bazzar, the district headquarters of Jumla.
