Kathmandu: Minister for Information and Communication and spokesperson of the government Jaya Prakash Prasad Gupta said that at least 250 terrorists were killed and 103 arrested since the state of emergency was declared in the country.
In a regular weekly interaction with media persons, Minister Gupta said that security personnel have made good progress in the operation against terrorism and terrorists. He said that there have been big casualties on the terrorist side. The real number could not be known as terrorists have been taking away the dead bodies, he said.
Minister Gupta said that the government has withdrawn its earlier decision to release terrorists from jails and custody. The government has not brought weapons from other countries but has felt the necessity of more helicopters to be used in the fight against terrorism, he said.
The Minister said that security personnel have made significant progress in their operations against terrorists and this action would be further effective.
