A senior leader of the CPN (Maoist) has alleged that the Nepali Army was running the government rather than the other way round.

Speaking at an interaction organised by People’s Republican Forum, Nepal, in Butwal on Monday, Maoist central committee member Suresh Ale Magar said, “The Nepal Army has been running the present government.”

He also said that the government should not be afraid to go ahead as per the sentiments of the people because they would support such steps.

He also expressed dissatisfaction over the government’s failure to take action against Nepal Army officials.

He said, the Nepal Army acted like the Royal Nepalese Army in the name of marking the king’s birthday.

He also urged the government not to announce budget for the new fiscal year until formation of an interim government.
