Appa breaks his own record by scaling Everest for 17th time

Appa Sherpa, veteran mountaineer, scaled the roof of the world, Mount Everest, for record 17th time on Wednesday, breaking his own record.

Appa, 46, reached the peak of 8,848 m high mountain along with seven other Sherpas and a western climber who are members of Super Sherpa Expedition. The expedition aims to raise money for better education and health care for children of community who lives at the foothills of the mountain.

Appa had scaled the Everest for the first time in 1989.
