An object suspected of being a bomb has been found in front of the Melamchi drinking water project office in New Baneshwor Tuesday morning. The object was wrapped in red colored cloth and

found at the front of the office.

The army has cordoned the area and a bomb disposal team is at work to defuse the bomb and avoid an explosion.

It is suspected that Maoist rebels could have planted the bomb but nobody has yet claimed responsibility of the red packet.

The capital city has been rocked by a series of explosions in the past week. The Maoists seem to

have stepped up their terror campaign after the emergency came to an end on August 28.
