Ambassador Bhattrai elected Colombo Plan chief

Durga Prashad Bhattrai, Nepal’s ambassador to Sri Lanka, has been elected president of the Colombo Plan Council (CPC) for year 2005/06.

The selection was done in the Council’s 249th session that was held in Colombo on 11th October, reports said.

According to a statement of the Royal Nepalese Embassy in Colombo, Bhattrai is the 59th president of the CPC.

The CPC was established in 1951 for cooperative economic and social development.
