Jajarkot, June 30: An all-party meeting attended by representatives of all the political parties and district development committee (DDC) officials was held at the district administration office here to discuss about the development and construction works and the law and order situation in the district.
Presiding over the meeting, chief district officer Rishikesh Niraula said that all the political parties and the civil society had important role in maintaining the law and order situation of the district.
He also stressed the crucial role of all other sectors in the strengthening of the supply system in the district.
At the meeting it was agreed that price list of commodities would be put up at all the shops, uniformity of prices would be ensured and the sale and distribution of unhealthy food would be prohibited.
Meanwhile in Kathmandu ex-minister and Nepali Congress central member Bijaya Kumar Gachchhedar recently inaugurated a law literacy class conducted at Okhaldhunga by the Okhaldhunga Development Committee in collaboration with the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare. On the occasion, he underlined the need for all political parties, non-governmental organisations and donor agencies to join hands for the all round development of the nation since the pace of development during the 10 years after the ushering in of democracy has not been encouraging.
State Minister for Land Reform and Management Gopal Rai said that all should come forward for national development, setting aside their political differences.
Chairman of the society Khilanath Dahal presided over the function at which MPs Homnath Dahal and Umakant Choudhari and National Planning Commission member Dr. Shankar Sharmaalso expressed their views.
Some 28 women from the women’s awareness and income generation scheme and 8 from the sustainable community development programme attended the literacy class.
