More then 4,000 Nepali working in various parts of Lebanon are safe till date despite heavy bombardments by Israel on Lebanese territory.
Worried about the safety of their nationals currently in Lebanon, many countries have dispatched ships and aircraft to evacuate them. Israel has imposed terrestrial, aerial and naval blockade of Lebanon. However there was no provision for contingency evacuation of Nepalis in case of emergency.
Talking to Nepalnews, spokesman at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Yadav Khanal said that all 4,000 Nepali in Lebanon are safe.
He further said that as Nepalis are not staying in the area of bombings, the government had not made any arrangements for the safety of Nepali workers there.
Stating that the Nepali Embassy in Egypt, which looks after Lebanese affairs also, is regularly updating the Ministry about the situation there, he further informed that the government will adopt appropriate measures for the safety of Nepali workers based on the report of the Embassy.
