The Asian Development Bank announced an assistance of seven hundred thousand US dollars for the preparation of a commercial agriculture development project.

The project preparatory assistance (PPTA) is under the Japan Special Fund (JSF) of the ADB. The goals of the proposed project is to improve the income and employment opportunities of small and marginal farmers in 11 districts of eastern Nepal including six hilly districts through the introduction of high yielding crop varieties and improved farming techniques.
