Banepa, June 5: International President of the Association for Acupuncture Services Dr. Li Hang Je inaugurated the Nepal Acupuncture Service Association at a function in Banepa on Sunday.
In his inaugural remarks, the international president of the Acupuncture Services Association said that the acupuncture services could be popular in a developing country like Nepal characterised by its geographical diversity.
Central member of the Nepali Congress Publicity Department and advisor of Nepal Acupuncture Services Association Madhu Prasad Acharya expressed the view that the acupuncture therapy was economically viable and less costly in the rural areas and the hinterland given the varied topography of the country and the level of public awareness.
Dr Li Jhong Je, president of the Acupuncture Services Association, Nepal, urged cooperation in expanding acupuncture services in Nepal. He said acupuncture is very popular in the orient.
At the programme presided over by Mr Padma Kanta Thakur, Mayor of Banepa Municipality Dr. Surendra Bahadur Bade Shrestha, Juju Kaji Shakya and others also expressed their views.
