Kathmandu, June 1: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has started action against deputy director of the Land Reforms Department Ram Prasad Shrestha by keeping him in custody since his work as land revenue officer to get the land being used by the SOS Balgram Pokhara registered in the name of some other individuals was found illegal.
Mr Shrestha has been kept in custody for investigation after he failed to deposit Rs 15.650 million as bail worth the land.
Mr Shrestha had registered the land in the names of Bishnu Prasad Koirala, Parsuram Koirala, Dev Dutta Koirala, Ishwor Koirala, Anand Koirala, Rajesh Koirala, Uma Devi Koirala, Moti Devi Koirala and Surya Prasad Koirala of Pokhara sub-metropolitan city ward No. 5 and he pleaded guilty when he was called to the commission for questioning.
