Close to five thousand academic institutions in the Kathmandu valley remained closed for the second day after the revolutionary student body of the Maoist rebels called an indefinite strike.
They have voiced for the fulfillment of their nine-point demand. They have denounced the government’s recent 29-point reform package stating that it had failed to look into their genuine demand.
The Maoist student body has been calling on the government to lift the terrorist tag labeled on the Maoists if talks are to be resumed and educational institutions are to be run without any hitches.
The government has refused to lift the terrorist tag saying that the Maoists could not be trusted.
