The state-run Gorkhapatra daily has reported that Dambar Kumari Subedi, a Nepali woman working in Lebanon, was killed during Israeli attack in Lebanon two weeks ago.
The daily has quoted Chandra Subedi, husband of Dambar Kumari, as saying that his wife was killed during Israeli attacks on Lebanon on July 14. He said he came to know about the incident from four Nepali youths—from the western district of Gulmi– whom he had met at Chennai, India. The youths had returned from Lebanon after Israeli attacks intensified.
30-year-old Dambar Kumari had reached Lebanon only three months ago through World Vision, a Kathmandu-based manpower agency. A resident of Agyauli VDC of Nawalparasi district in western Nepal, Subedi couple have got a son, the daily reported on Friday.
The daily quoted officiating chief district officer of Nawalparasi, Krishna Prasad Nepal , and spokesman of the Foreign Ministry, Yadav Khanal, as saying that they had not heard anything regarding the death of a Nepali woman in Lebanon.
Khanal said out of nearly 4,000 Nepalis said to be working in Lebanon, nearly 60 Nepalis had returned home by Thursday.
