A Nepali NGO offers medical and psychological assistance to torture victims

Forum for Protection of People’s Rights, Nepal, a non-governmental, has said that it is offering Medical treatment, psychosocial counseling, Physiotherapy and legal aid/counseling to the torture victims.

A press statement issued by the organization said that it established a torture victim rehabilitation centre in Kathmandu to provide comprehensive care to torture victims.

The organization further informed that it is also operating mobile health camp outside the Kathmandu Valley.

Talking to Nepalnews, Programme Coordinator of the organization Rajendra Ghimire said that they are providing all services to torture victims free of cost.

He further said that the organization will also advocate to end the practice of giving torture in the society.
