Surya Nepal Masters golf competition will start on 27th March at the par-72 Gokarna Forest Golf Resort & Spa.

A press release issued by the Surya Nepal Private Limited said that the programme is an opportunity for amateur golfers from Nepal to play with the very best professionals.

About 90 amateurs and 30 professionals will participate in the competition. Surya Nepal Masters carries a prize purse of two million rupees.

“The event which until now was a part of the Indian Golf Tour till 2005 is now a stand alone International Tournament in Nepal,” the statement added.

Surya Nepal has been associated with this tournament since its inception in 1993.

Between 28th and 31st March 2007 , the Surya Nepal Masters will witness some of the top golfers from India and Malaysia along with a host of top Nepali golfers.

Surya Nepal is also organising Media Golf Clinic at the Le Meridien Kathmandu Gokarna Forest Golf Resort & Spa on the 28 th March from 11 am to 1 pm.

This will provide an opportunity for golfers as well as non golfers from the media fraternity to understand the nuances of golf, the statement added.
