SC forms probe panel to investigate bribe case

The Full Court meeting of the Supreme Court has formed a three member committee headed by Justice Tap Bahadur Magar to probe the CD scandal.

The meeting also dissolved the probe committee formed last week to probe the scandal.

The new committee comprises of Justices Damodar Prasad Sharma and Ram Kumar Sha.

According to registrar of the Supreme Court Dr Ram Krishna Timilsena, the committee is beginning its probe from today. The panel that has been given 15 days to submit its report.

The Supreme Court started the probe after a voice-recorded CD, containing the conversation between SC officials and a client regarding a bribe to influence the Court decision, was publicised by media.

A newspaper on Tuesday reported tapped telephonic conversation between SC and Appellate court officials and a client for issuing a verdict in favour of the client.
