Japan has agreed to provide a cultural grant assistance over Rs.16 million to Nepal for the improvement of TV Programs of Nepal Television.
A press release issued by the Japanese Embassy in Kathmandu said, Japanese Ambassador to Nepal Tsutomu Hiraoka and Secretary at the Ministry of Finance Vidyadhar Mallik signed and exchanged the notes to this effect, Friday, on behalf of their respective governments.
“The grant assistance has been extended for procuring necessary programs to further enhance TV broadcasting of Nepal Television Corporation, thus enabling Nepal Television Corporation to promote culture and education in Nepal furthermore,” the statement said, adding, “It is expected to contribute to further promote its cultural and educational broadcasting which will benefit more than 15 million viewers.
Speaking at the function, Hiraoka expressed his hope that the grant will contribute to the further promotion of cultural and educational activities in Nepal.
