The Nepal Army (NA) has expelled two of its soldiers from service for dereliction of duty.
According to the Directorate of Public Relation (DPR) of the NA, soldiers Deepak Karki and Binod Khatri, who left their barrack in Nawalparasi on January 24 without permission and were involved in a drunken brawl with local people have been expelled from the military service.
A Court of Inquiry set up to investigate into the incident had found them guilty of violation of military norms and discipline.
The army has also decided to make the two pay Rs 55,800 as compensation to the locals who were beaten up by them.
