Activists of Jwala Singh faction of Janatantrik Terai Mukti Morcha (JTMM) abducted Maoists’ area secretary Manoj Patel from Rautahat on Monday afternoon.

Armed JTMM activists led by district chairman Ajay Yadav, who came in a vehicle with an Indian registration plate, abducted Patel from his residence at Dewahi VDC-6.

JTMM district chairman Yadav stated over telephone that Patel was abducted for helping a non-Nepali acquire a Nepali citizenship certificate.

In another incident, the Jwala Singh faction of the JTMM grabbed 15.5 bighas of land belonging to four persons of a family and hoisted its party flag on the land in Siraha.

Central spokesperson of the faction Binod Sada “Bidrohi” said the land belonging to a Prajapati family at Bhagawatipur of Tamasudya-2 was grabbed as the family was exploiting Dalits and other poor people.

Two bighas of land belonging to Kanaiya Prajapati, two bighas belonging to Barma Prajapati, 1.5 bighas of Upendra Prajapati and 10 bighas of Rajendra Prajapati were grabbed and party flag of the faction hoisted there, Bidrohi said.

He added that a team led by trainer of Terai Mukti Sena (Siraha) Bhairab Singh carried out the whole operation.

“The seized land will be distributed to the Dalits and poor people,” Bidrohi added.
