The Nepal Civil Service Employees Organisation has condemned the recent pronouncement by the Janatantrik Terai Mukti Morcha (Jwala Singh faction) warning government employees of hilly origin to vacate the Madhes region.
“Such warning against unarmed civil servants is non political and condemnable,” the organisation has stated.
Jwala Singh’s faction of JTMM had, on Friday, issued a stern warning against government employees of hilly origin and asked them to return from Terai.
Due to the continued violent activities by the two armed factions of JTMM, the government employees – especially those of hilly origin – have become terrified. On Tuesday, JTMM-Goit faction killed an education trainer Basudev Poudel in Bara.
Incidents of abductions of employees of hilly origin have become quite frequent in Terai districts in recent months.
