Maoist lawmakers disrupted today’s proceedings of the interim parliament demanding fulfillment of their various demands.
Maoist lawmakers have demanded public apology from the Home Minister for the recent police raids on offices of the Maoist-affiliated Young Communist League (YCL) in the Valley and annul the recommendation of the Election Constituency Delimitation Commission (ECDC).
Maoist lawmakers also criticised the government for not giving proper attention to the management of Maoist cantonments.
The House sitting was adjourned after Maoist lawmakers surrounded the Rostrum and chanted slogans.
The next sitting is scheduled for 11.00 am on Thursday.
Police had searched the offices of YCL in the three districts on Sunday on suspicion of concealing illegal weapons.
The Maoists have been protesting the ECDC saying that the officials of ECDC were appointed without due procedures.
During his address to the parliament after being appointed as the Prime Minister of the interim government, Girija Prasad Koirala had urged all lawmakers not to obstruct the house and assist the government in restoring sustainable peace in the country.
