The 10 th edition of much awaited prestigious music awards of the country, the 10 th Hits FM Music Awards 2063 will be held at Birendra International Convention Center (BICC) on Friday.

As per the information given in a press conference on Tuesday, the Close Up 10 th Hits FM Music Awards 2063 include singles/albums/music videos registered at Hits FM 91.2 in the year 2062.

According to organizers, the preliminary nominations in various categories were based on an extensive nationwide listener poll.

Awards will be given in 18 categories including the Lifetime Achievement Award.

One senior personality of the music sector will be honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award. The award will be given to the person who has made significant contribution to enrich the field of Nepali Music.

The award ceremony, which will be live broadcasted on Nepal Television, Hits FM 91.2 and online in nepalnews.com will showcase performance by some of the finest Nepali singers and bands including Sukarma, Sabin Rai, Sunil Bardewa and Kutumba among others.

“Following the trend we set at the 2057 music awards, this year we will be paying tribute to singer/composer/musician/actor late Shiva Shankar Manandhar- a pioneer of modern Nepali music. An individual with versatile personalities, Manandhar devoted 60 years of his life to the development of Nepali music, besides he is also the first hero of Nepal . Although he is no more with us, his creation lives on, through his music. You must remember the tune: “Ma mare pani mero desh bachi rahos”,” a statement issued by the organizers said.
