Sankata Kathmandu Mall Club (SKMC) defeated 10-man Saraswoti Youth Club (SYC) 2-1 while Machhindra Energizer FC (MEFC) routed Brigade Boys Club 7-0 in the matches of San Miguel “A” Division League Football played at the Dashrath Stadium today.
Maheshowr Mulmi side-shuddered with a goal first as Sankata reserve goalie Sandip Thapa sent the ball in between the legs off the shot by Subin Ghimire in the 73 rd minute. Sankata Club had numerical advantage in the field as Krishna Malakar of SYC was sent off after double-yellow in the 41st minute but nothing credited on Sankata’s kitty till they scored a goal.
After bagging one goal, Sankata pressed hard for the equalizer but were rewarded through Chetan Ghimire in the 77th minute. Ghimire utilised the pin-point cross off Salyan Khadki to dodge experienced SYC goalie Channu Ram Choudhary. Bharat Khawas brought cloud nine scoring the match winning goal in the 82 nd minute.
Sankata Club stays in the 10th positions with 17 points while SYC is on 12th positions with just 9 points.
In the second match of the day, MEFC ran seven unanswered goal on hapless Brigade Boys Club to stand firmly in the 7th position. Red Lions roared from the start of the game and attacked relentlessly from the word- “Go”.
Buddha Chemzong struck hat-trick while Skipper Bikash Subba scored twice while Subham Shrestha and Nirmal Tamang added apiece to rip off the fragile rival.
