An unidentified group claiming to be activists of Janatantrik Terai Mukti Morcha (JTMM), a breakaway faction of the Maoists, killed a person in Sarlahi district on Sunday night.

A group of 16-armed persons came to the house of Krishna Neupane of Hajariya village development committee (VDC) 6 and gunned him down at 8:45 p.m.

According to police, Neupane died on the way to the primary health centre at Barahatawa.

However, the JTMM is yet to take responsibility of the murder.

Meanwhile, JTMM’s Political Commissar Arjun Yadav has taken responsibility on the abduction of 60-year old Govinda Upreti of Sundarpur Choharwa VDC-9. He however did not elaborate on why Upreti was abducted.
