Rescue team heads towards Kaigaon

The Nepali Army (NA) has said a rescue team has marched towards Kaigaon of Dolpa to find the people who are reported missing due to snowstorm there.

According to a press release by the NA Public Relations Directorate, the rescue team headed towards the incident site at around 5 am Thursday. The
team was stranded on the way on Wednesday due to unfavourable weather
conditions.

The rescue team includes 13 NA soldiers, three police personnel, two medical persons and a guide. A relative of a missing person and two people
whom the rescue team met on the way also have joined the team.

The NA quotes returnees as saying that at least 40 villagers are still searching for the Yarshagumba herb in the area.

The NA has also been continuing search by helicopter as well. The rescue
team by land could reach the incident site by 3 pm, the statement said.
