Teachers affiliated to the Nepali Congress staging a rally at New Baneswor…
Following the police intervention in their sit-in, Friday morning, the agitating teachers led by Nepal Educational Republican Forum have announced to impose 2 hour chakkajam in the capital between 3 and 5 pm, Friday.

A leader of the Forum Lal Bahadur BC has said that 26 teachers were injured when police resorted to lathi charge and blank-fires to disperse the teachers staging sit-in in front of Education Ministry.

Earlier, in the morning, police intervened to disperse the agitating teachers after the teachers resorted to sloganeering and blocked the busy road section. As the crowd of agitated teachers retreated, they forced shops to shut down and obstructed traffic movement in Jamal area. The Jamal area had become tense for sometime.

The Forum was scheduled to hold talks with Education Minister Pradeep Nepal this afternoon to end the weeklong school strike.
