Sher Bahadur Deuba, president of Nepali Congress (NC-Democratic), has said that he has not asked for any post in the united Congress.
Refuting reports that he has demanded the position of acting president in the united Congress, Deuba told reporters that he, instead, has been pushing for ‘respectful unity.’
“There should be respectful unity from lower level onwards,” he said, adding, “I have not asked for any post for myself.”
His remarks have come amid renewed efforts to unify two Congress parties. On Friday, Prime Minister and president of Nepali Congress Girija Prasad Koirala met with senior Congress leader Krishna Prasad Bhattarai to talk about the party unity.
