Five die, over 30 injured in separate road accidents

Five persons were killed and over 30 people injured in separate road accidents over the last 24 hours.

Three people were killed and two others injured when a jeep heading from Tansen of palpa district to Amaraiye village met with an accident at Kerunga area in Argakhanchi district last night.

The jeep, which was carrying people from Palpa’s Mission Hospital, veered off 100 meters from the road.

The dead have been identified as Sumitra GC, Goma Pandey and Champa GC. Two injured are undergoing treatment in SandiKharka.

Similarly, one person was killed and another injured in a road accident in Gaidakot village development committee of Nawalparasi district on the Mahendra Highway last night.

50-year-old motorcyclist Prabhad Mahato died on the spot, another 50-year old Nanda Lal Lama was injured in the accident, according to reports.

Likewise, Madhu Chaulagain, 25, of Simara-9 died in a motorcycle accident last night in Patlaiya-Nijgadh stretch of Mahendra Highway.

Ram Krishna Lama and Uttam Chettri of Suryamai-3, Makawanpur have been seriously injured in the accident. Lama is undergoing treatment in Kathmandu in a critical condition while Chettri is undergoing treatment in Biratnagar.

Meanwhile, 27 passengers were injured, eight of them critically, when a passenger bus bound for Kathmandu from Narayangarh collided with a tipper parked on the roadside at Mahadevbesi of Dhading district last night.
