Blaming him for worsening law and order situation, Minister for Education and Sports Pradip Nepal has demanded that his cabinet colleague Home Minister Krishna Sitaula step down.
Speaking at a meeting of Press Chautari in Biratnagar, on Tuesday, Nepal said that the Home Minister had failed to control the security situation. He said worsening situation in Terai would help pro-palace regressive elements who are against Constituent Assembly elections.
Nepal belongs to Unified Marxist Leninist (UML) party while Sitaula belongs to Nepali Congress (NC).
Sitaula has been one of the most criticised ministers in the current cabinet. His resignation has been sought by not only UML leaders and Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (MJF) but also a section of NC leaders.
