NRB freezes Nepal Cooperative’s accounts

Following the decision to liquidate Nepal Development Bank, the central bank has decided to freeze all accounts maintained by Nepal Cooperative as the cooperative owes a large amount to the development bank.

The cooperative owes Rs 90 million to the bank.

Nepal Rastra Bank also seized cash from the bank’s head office in Kathmandu, ATMs and branch office in Pokhara. Nepal Stock Exchange banned the bank from carrying out any share transactions.
